A bit of history about us

Sandy started going on short-term mission trips in 1996 or so with Jaron Ministries. Our family went on a short-term mission trip to Brazil about 1998. It was a great experience, but I (Rhonda) was glad to get back home. I was fine with Sandy going on these short-term trips and me staying home and taking care of our business and the kids. He would come home so excited about missions and tell me to pray about going or even better yet consider going full time. I didn’t want to consider leaving my comfort zone, my little house in California, the kids in public school and me going and helping out in the classrooms each week, the whole American idea. Sandy took our son Sam, who at the time was 13 on one of his trips and Sam, began to sense God calling us as a family to the mission field, and Sam came home and shared his heart with me. Sam went again when he was 15. The Lord continued to confirm his plan for missions in our family, while working on my heart. I told Sandy about what the Lord was telling me and of course he was so excited, we began the process of applying with New Tribes Mission. We were accepted as associate members August 2003 and sold our business and our home and moved to Palawan, Philippines, February 10th, 2004. Sandy was the Short-term mission Coordinator for Palawan and the Construction Coordinator for New Tribes Mission in Puerto Princesa for 2 1/1 years. Within this time, Jake had started Faith Academyin Manila and on the island of Luzon,about 400 miles away from us, living in the dorm. I (Rhonda) could not handle taking Sam home to Calif. To start college and be away from Jake too. We began to pray for Sandy, I and Jake to be together as a family. The Lord worked quickly and in August 2007, we moved to Manila at Faith Academy for Sandy to be the Construction Supervisor on the new Dick and Helen Cadd Fine Arts Auditorium/classroom Center. We have seen Gods faithfulness throughout our journey and feel so blessed to be a part of Gods plan to reach the unreached with the gospel.
