We invited some of Sandys guys from work to our home for a feed and fight to watch Manny Paquiao (The filipinos national hero) defeat Oscar Dela Hoya last Sunday. The guys went home rejoicing in the victory.

About 1 1/2 months ago Pastor Pong asked if we would come to the church he had started down at the barracks below Faith. He started it with the construction men working on the auditorium and people started coming from that small village below Faith too. There were about 20 people January 1 coming. Sandy and I were excited to see God at work there and Sandy offered to talk with Faith and see if they could meet in a room at school. They were excited and said yes. We would go to the service and worship and realized the kids would just have to sit in the church service, so a few weeks ago Sandy, Jake and I would take the kids out and let them play on the playground and then give a simple lesson and candy to those who would memorize a verse. It started with about 7-10 kids and now has about 30 kids this past Sunday morning!!! You can see the kids piled up in our truck, we would take them home after the service and it took about 3 loads this Sunday to get them all home. Wow, its so exciting to see it grow that fast! Please be praying for Barracks Bible Church as they develop and Pastor Pong as he and his wife ,Janet desire to reach the lost.

The missionary community in our sub division got together and donated $600 and was able to buy 1 and 1/2 ton rice, some sardines and noodles for the adults and balloons and color books for the kids. The culture here is poor filipinos come to your gate Christmas morn to receive a gift from you. We put a sign on our gates telling them to go to 1 house. We served about 500 kids and 500 adults that morning. It was such a blessing and most of us had tears in our eyes as we watched these people leave with something for Christmas. May God bless you this new year! Merry Christmas!

We are so grateful to those of you who have acted upon our need financially. A new family has joined us in our ministry and will support us monthlyWe have also had some friends send 1 time gifts during the last month. Praise God! We are going to trust that God will continue to provide and keep us here through May. We will reevaluate at that point and see how our finances are going. Thank you so much. Faith Academy is happy Sandy can continue on the project and Jake can finish his JR year at Faith!! God is good and takes care of us beyond what we can imagine:) Thank you!!

Praise the Lord! We have had a couple join our support team! We still need four hundred dollars per month to be able to stay here in the Philippines. We will make the decision December 1 to come home, if we dont have the funds. Please continue to pray with us, that Gods will be done and he be glorified through it! That we would stay faithful and focused on him through this time.

A story about a thief at the Faith work site, from Tad (the Senior Construction Managers wife), Barb Wullaman

Tad had such an interesting experience this week at work.
The chain fence gate at the primitive construction barracks got twisted sometime back and couldn't be locked any more. There have been a couple of instances of theft and I have told Tad that it seems a shame that in a construction context there seems to be no one to repair that gate.
Then 5 days ago Chaplain Pong (the Filipino chaplain to the construction workers) discovered a man from the local squatter village scavenging GI roofing and scrap iron in the barracks area to take back to his house. He confronted him and almost resorted to violence but the man was vehement in carrying off the scrap metal to sell in order to feed his family. There was no way Pong could peaceably stop him (and the gate was still unrepaired.)
Pong reported this theft to Tad, and also reported that the thief is an electrician of sorts and repairs TV sets, etc. but has no work. Clarence Torkelson, Wycliffe Assoc. electrician was standing there and said, "Well, we need to give this man a job. God has brought him to us so we can help him." (We find Clarence so refreshing because he has such a sensitive and simple heart devoid of cynicism or negative thoughts.)
So Pong went to find him and the man worked that very day. Clarence put him on his team and paid him a daily wage to take home immediately.

Yesterday Tad came home and said, "Barbara, You know that thief we hired?"
Of course I knew all about it and just groaned..."Ok, what happened now?" (I am remembering that the gate is still not repaired.)
"Well, Chaplain Pong went down to his shack to help him fill out application papers for employment at Faith Academy."

I am waiting eagerly for the punch to see what new revelation I'm going to find out about the thief.......What new evil or trouble has happened? What has been stolen this time?

"Well," Tad said, "While Pong was helping the man fill out the employment application, he prayed to receive Christ!"

We just laughed, and laughed! How the Lord works! He takes a man bent on evil and exposes him to the Light. And then brings him into His kingdom.

And yes, the gate will be repaired (soon.) I thot you'd like that encouraging testimony! Have a good day in Jesus.

Please be praying with us. A week ago we got word that we will not be getting a large amount of our monthly support ($500) worth. We are waiting on the Lord through November, but if at the end of November, we can not get that replaced, we will have to start making arrangements to head home. Today was Dave, the guy Sandy has been working with on the auditoirums last day and it will be hard for Faith to loose Sandy also , here shortly. Jake is into his 2nd Qtr in his Jr year and it will be tough for him as well to leave. We trust the Lord and whatever he has in store for us , we will be ok with. We would have to sell our truck and find a person to rent our house, as our lease goes til August 08. There will be alot to do in a short amount of time.

A team from 'The World Race'

We met this team at Faith the other day and had them over last night. They are with "The World race", like The Amazing Race, but missions minded. They have traveled the world this year and have 1 more month to go before they head back home. from left to right is Leah, Amy, Linnea, Scott (married)and Josh. Check out the web site for more info. www.theworldrace.org their personal bios are in Jan 2007 participants. What a fun time we had with them, hearing about their trip to all the countries they have been this far. Looks like a great opportunity for people of all ages to be a part of missions!
